english abstract → Four female artists from Brazil and one artist from Dakar in Senegal are invited to bring colored earth from their regions. Earth in different material and metaphorical qualities is the theme of the summer workshop. The artists use the materiality of the colored earths from different continents in painting and work on aspects of the meaning of the earth as a symbol of life. Brazilian earths, Lietzener field-earth and ground red clay bricks are used in the works. The communal artistic creations as well as communal life is important for the artistic discourse across national borders and language barriers.
